Facial Feminization Surgery
          Dr Laurent Ganry

Dr. Laurent Ganry offers compassionate and expert Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS) for transgender women, and for anyone assigned female at birth who feels their facial appearance is too masculine. With a warm respect for each person’s identity, Dr. Ganry aims to help you feel at home in your own face—harmonious, authentic, and reflective of who you are.

What Makes Our Care Special

  • Deep expertise, global training: Dr. Ganry is an Attending in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and Assistant Professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He earned his medical degree from Sorbonne University in Paris, and completed triple fellowships: in Head & Neck OMFS and ENT surgery in the U.S., as well as in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Tokyo, Japan.

  • A patient-centered, multidisciplinary team: Dr. Ganry’s work is supported by a dedicated team of skilled OMFS surgeons at Northwell Health (including specialists in reconstructive, cosmetic, and maxillofacial surgery), who partner with you through every stage: from consultation, planning (including 3D/virtual surgical planning), through surgery, healing, and follow-up.

  • Innovation & research-driven results: Across his career, Dr. Ganry has published over 30 scientific articles and book chapters, and holds a patent for a medical device in the USA. He has also authored work specific to facial feminization surgery — including using 3D-custom surgical guides to improve safety and precision.

What You Can Expect

  • A compassionate first consultation: when you meet with Dr. Ganry, you’ll be heard — your hopes, your concerns, your aesthetic goals, and functional needs. It is the time to set your expectations and link with us as your prefered surgical team.

  • Personalized surgical planning: using advanced imaging and models (sometimes 3D), we map out a plan that balances aesthetic outcomes with safety, recovery, and facial function.

  • A broad scope of procedures: depending on what you want, FFS may include changes to the forehead, nose (rhinoplasty), cheeks, jaw/bone reshaping, chin, eyelids, hairline lowering, soft tissue refinements (skin, lip, etc.), or a combination of these. Dr. Ganry’s practice includes both surgical and non-surgical facial aesthetic options.

  • Supportive care in recovery: post-operative follow-ups, guidance on healing, and attention to minimizing discomfort. The aim is that at every stage you feel supported and respected.
